fruitful visit

Okay yesterday i didnt watch The Screen. But i did sumtin else which not everyone has a chance to experience.
I went to visit Thye Kwan Hwa Moral Home for the Disabled. Intelectually disabled. I accompanied Atika to recce the place for her Adopt A Home project. Of course who wouldn't be psyched to be there ?? but of course you're still intimidated since u havent been exposed to God's special creations.
And to be honest i was more afraid than psyched. When we entered we were greeted by a resident. He looked really excited to see us and i tell u i wasnt. Yeahh yeahh blame it on me.. who wudnt be scared right ?? so i kinda slowly inched towards him and avoid sudden movements. And i wanted to yell to Khairun but she was movin like a sloth behind me. And he held his hand out, the last thing i'd expect him to do. But i was relieved and i shook his hand. And so did Khai. And then he led us to the office. Honestly i felt safer inside the office. I know i know... such finite state of mind. immobilized by my fear. GOD. Okay so anyway turns out that we've got the wrong home. But we wanted this home as it caters to young adults which is what we're lookin for. So we decided to work with them and told them about our project and stuff. And they told us that they cud bring us around and let us mingle a little with the residents. And also a really good tip is to learn that the residents are like toddlers they desire affection and attention. And that's why they like to touch your hand. YES THEY ONLY TOUCH YOUR HAND. AND I SWEAR THEY ARE FRIENDLIER THAN ANYONE YOU CAN MEET ON THE STREETS.
And so there was this autistic boy. He was screaming and yelling.. it kinda scares me a little cause he might just scream into my already deaf ears. But then while we were talkin to the volunteer there... he was sorta crying and he took my hand like he wanted me to comfort him. I dunno what to do or say... i looked at him and cupped his hand in mine. It was kinda awkward and i dunno what made me do that. It kinda puzzles me after that. We were standing outside their Occupational Therapy room. And out came this girl. She was so excited that she had Malay visitors. that says a lot. We recce-ed the place and watched them eat lunch. They are independent. they even brush their teeth after that. do you ?
It's really interestin and rewardin. Just being there and making somebody feel appreciated. Wow. really. AND WE NEED A LOT OF VOLUNTEERS!!! Anybody ?? Who feels like they wanna contribute to society ?? We need volunteers on 22nd March. So call me when you're sober and text me when you're drunk. A rewarding and enriching experience awaits you. It's time you give back to humanity don't you think ?
After our visit. Atika and I went to Kembangan in search for a job. But it was rainin and our legs hurt and we're dead beat due to our bad orienteering skills. So we ended up at Muslimedia at Wisma Indah. 1 whole day full of fruitful events. Okay im a Muslim so it's natural to wanna know more abt my religion and BOY is there a lot of information there. From Prophet Muhammad to Muslim names(which i cant find my name one it. booo hiss booo) to Angels to Satans to clonings and everything there is to know abt Islam.
Anyway i think God created special ppl to remind us that we're not perfect and we have flaws and it's not all important to look the best or be the best but to just be human and touch ppl.
And... During the YEC Meeting. HAHA. a lot of crazy stories. from flashing to frightening experiences. Bas had to look after a few mental patients. wow. Bas is really scared and it's not often that she gets scared. HAHA. And Xiu Ling has funny stories to share too. hahaha she's an Occupational Therapist... so yeahhh of course she has interestin stories. And i learnt a few mental conditions
Dementia = extreme amnesia + deterioration of mental faculties.
Schizophrenia = extreme delusion and hallucination
Bipolar disorder = extreme mood swings and radical changes in emotions
Dysthymia = extreme depression
Dyslexia = learning disability(reading, speaking, spelling, writing)
Psychosis = Bipolar disorder + Schizophrenia.
So which one's yours ?
